UK Competition: STEELHEART and FIREFIGHT by Brandon Sanderson!

Those lovely folks at Gollancz have provided a copy of Brandon Sanderson‘s Steelheart and Firefight for me to give away to one lucky reader in the UK. (Sorry to those of you not from the UK… I’ll try to organise an international giveaway ASAP.) Not sure what the series is about? Well, here’s the synopsis for Steelheart:

Ten years ago, Calamity came. It was a burst in the sky that gave ordinary men and women extraordinary powers. The awed public started calling them Epics. But Epics are no friend of man. With incredible gifts came the desire to rule. And to rule man you must crush his wills.

Nobody fights the Epics… nobody but the Reckoners. A shadowy group of ordinary humans, they spend their lives studying Epics, finding their weaknesses, and then assassinating them.

And David wants in. He wants Steelheart – the Epic who is said to be invincible. The Epic who killed David’s father. For years, like the Reckoners, David’s been studying, and planning – and he has something they need. Not an object, but an experience.

He’s seen Steelheart bleed. And he wants revenge.

I enjoyed Steelheart, and also the short story set between the two novels, Mitosis. I’m really looking forward to reading Firefight.

All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning this action-packed bundle is… leave a comment or email me, and I’ll pick the winner at random on Sunday night. The winner will be notified on Monday morning.

    • I was pretty slow about getting around to reading anything by Sanderson – I own all of his books, but have only read Steelheart, Mitosis and The Emperor’s Soul. I’ll be reading Firefight ASAP, then maybe the Mistborn novels. So many (big) books, so little time…

  1. Thank you for the amazing opportunity to win these books, I’ve had my eye on the series for some time but haven’t had the spare pennies to get Steelheart yet which is sad as I’ve heard great things about it…… fingers crossed!

  2. Sanderson is such a prolific writer, it’s difficult to read ‘everything’, I’ve just started Way of Kings, book one of Stormlight Archive, so a big commitment, but if the quality doesn’t diminish it will be worth it. And if this series is as good, it’s definitely on my wish list.
